Camp Chef Universal Igniter System... Date submitted:(2008-07-21) Rating:
I have purchased several Igniters Systems for the 2 burner Systemandd they worked fine, but this igniter was a poor Design for the 3 Burner System being there is a second Panel and the capulary tube is not long enough. and moves a great deal when in use.. I have three igniters systems installed and only use matches..Sorry too say..r

A Little Mechanical Ability Helps... Date submitted:(2007-08-29) Rating:
I purchased two if this model for my two burner model, and they work great! They light the burners every time with one or two clicks. You must follow the instructions, and get the gap correct. Bending about 1/8 of the tip down toward a burner orifice is the key. Don't flood the area with gas before you click. Click as soon as you turn on the gas. If it doesn't light it's probaly flooded. Turn the gas off and fan the area to remove the excess gas, or wait a few minutes until the gas disipates. Then try again. I have had two happy years using mine. I am a retired aircraft maintenace technician, and I see no design or engineering flaw in this product. Happy camping!

Love my Expedition 3x, but not these ignitors... Date submitted:(2007-06-11) Rating:
I bought 3 for my Expedition. Instead of fitting IN the hole, as one might expect, they fasten on a bracket outside the front. Looks ugly and awkward, and they don't work very well besides. I took mine back off and am using an extended lighter instead. I'm sure if I had left them on they would have broken soon, anyway, given the exposed way in which they are mounted. Save your money on this item - use it instead on the other fine accessories. I bought several and am very happy with the others.

Not for Sport Grill... Date submitted:(2007-05-04) Rating:
This "Universal Ignitor" touted for the Sport Grill DOES NOT WORK on the Sport Grill. No way to attach it! Needs to be fastened with screws along its side, and the Sport Grill only has fastening holes next to the ignitor hole. Real Bummer!

Lousy Design for the Expedition... Date submitted:(2007-04-14) Rating:
Seldom works right. Too much flex in the ignitor wire. Match works better.

Works Great!... Date submitted:(2006-08-01) Rating:
You don't have to be a rocket scientist, but a little mechanical ability is helpful. You can easily adjust the igniter wires to ignite every time, if you take a few minutes to make fine adjustments. It has to be close enough to get a good spark, but far

Lame!!... Date submitted:(2006-07-31) Rating:
Bought 3 for my Big gAss grill. Installed one and the locking tab immediately broke because the holder is about 1/4 inch too short for the igniter. Even after getting it sort of installed, it only worked one time when I delicately held the wire near a gas

Nice tool, lousy installation... Date submitted:(2006-06-14) Rating:
I ordered two of them, for my ancient Explorer two-burner stove.
Pros:
Once installed, they work well - screw them in, trim the electrode, line it up with a gas port on the burner, ensure the spark gap allows a nice, healthy spark, and you're good to

Ignitors are AWESOME!... Date submitted:(2006-06-12) Rating:
I love my ignitors! I just attached them to the stove and made sure that the end of the wire was about 1/8 of an inch from the gas hole near the front of the burner - so it catches it quickly. Before I ever lit up the stove, I checked to make sure that th

Forget it!... Date submitted:(2006-06-11) Rating:
I bought 3 for my Expedition 3x. I installed the lgniter in no time. Then I spent about an hour trying to make it light the burner. I checked it and rechecked the instructions several times.... I returned the 3 igniters. Forget it... we will use a mat
