Camp Chef Expedition 3X - Triple Burner Cooker ... Date submitted:(2008-02-16) Rating:
I really wanted to buy the 2 burner unit that folds up,$149 lowest price. I paid $20 more for this setup at Costco.
I cook, grill, and dutch oven as often as I can for family and on camping trips. The griddle heats evenly, and the grill box I purchased cooks food better than my expensive backyard grill.
I use it to cook bean dishes and soups in dutch ovens.
It seems to be much more wind resistant than the older models.
It is a heavy system, but unlike a backyard BBQ grill, you can fold it up and take it with you.

I love my stove... Date submitted:(2008-02-14) Rating:
I have a large family and the griddle was absolutely perfect at breakfast, trying to get pancakes or eggs and sausage for 8 kids and any family that was within distance of the smell ready can be a challenge. My griddle was perfect. could cook so much food at tone time, I'm gonna buy the grill box and storage bag this year.

Expedition 3X (from Costco)... Date submitted:(2008-01-03) Rating:
The only reason for not giving 5 stars is due to the lack of ignitors for the burners. Lost the hair on my nuckles. I have since purchased and installed them and am getting ready for my next camping trip. Great stove, I found it to be sturdy, up to the demands I placed upon it and easy to clean. The 2 burner grill is perfect for me.

PIECE OF TRASH... Date submitted:(2007-12-01) Rating:
I have purchased several different CampChef Stoves in past (directly from Camp Chef) and I love them they are quality. THIS THING the 3Burner Expedition is JUNK I think CampChef makes Trash for Costco. I purchsed it and all 3 valves that control on/off and hi/med/low for the burners leak gas. I called campchef because I could not get the burners to light, they would lite then go out or go to real low. Camp Chef told me it had something to do with the pressure sensor on hose bla bla bla, I was supposed to very slowly open the tank valve then wait then lite burner (never had to do this on other models I own) anyway this did not help then I noticed that flame was all around area behind the stove burner valves and when I took the round dials off I could clearly see where the main feed pipe joins the individual valves that there is gaping openings. Not properly fit nor sealed. You can hold a match under any of these valves when tank is on and it will start on fire. That is where the pressure leak is. VERY VERY Crappy construction. No one from Camp Chef is cooperative. NOT HAPPY AT ALL (I own 3 other Camp Chef Stoves) I want to throw this unit (Expedition 3 burner) in the TRASH. I know another person who purchased same one from Costco as I and they have same problem. Obviously JUNK JUNK JUNK If Camp Chef wants to make me happy they should send me different 3burner (Professional One) and take this one back I will not buy nor recommend any Camp Chef product in future. Your experience does not sound normal. We completely stand behind this Camp Chef stove and suggest you notify them, we know they will take care of you.

A Tailgating Must............ Date submitted:(2007-08-30) Rating:
I received my grill as a gift from my father-in-law in April of 2006. I used the grill that spring, summer, fall and winter. My buddies and I used the grill all season long (Go Seahawks!). We have cooked everything you can imagine on this grill. I have continued using my grill this year as well. The grill is powerful and portable, the perfect combination for a tailgater. The guys and I are ready for the 2007-08 season. We look forward to all of our future grilling. CAST IRON IS THE BEST!!! This website has awesome cast iron cookware and accessories with the best pricing I've seen anywhere.

3-Burner Stove... Date submitted:(2007-07-20) Rating:
I bought one of these to use when our SAR Team is on a mission or when family camping. I liked it so much I suggested the team purchase their own. I also purchased two griddles to use with the stoves. The SAR team operates a concession stand for a local sporting event 2x's per year. Attendance is approx. 1500-2000 people. We have used thiese stoves for two events and cooked both breakfast meals and then dinner meals of hamburgers and hotdogs. The small size itthem just right for carrying in our supply trailer. I guess that in the last year we have cooked over a thousand hot dogs and hamburgers to perfection. I'd highly recommend the combination of 3-burner and BBQ grille. Very pleased with performance and durability.

It's a great addition... Date submitted:(2007-07-15) Rating:
I love to grill and this camp stove is an excellent addition to my outdoor kitchen. It was a life saver when I catered for an airsoft game that was held on a Saturday and Sunday. Goes well with my 3 smokers.

Absolutely the Greatest... Date submitted:(2007-06-07) Rating:
Purchased this unit for my motor coach camping, and found out that this is great for everyday cooking out. I use it in conjunction with my bar-b-que grill and its like having a portable outdoor kitchen. Cooking on it is fantastic and easy.

I love it!... Date submitted:(2007-04-30) Rating:
I used to cook in the motorhome on the tiny stove. Now that I have the three burner stove, I do the cooking outside. Less mess...more time with the family. I also like the fact that I can cook big batches so I can eat with everyone else.

Awsome, just awsome!... Date submitted:(2007-04-15) Rating:
I have been a Coleman fan since I was a kid. But this stove puts them to shame for family style camping. I set it up permanently on my back deck, covered when not in use with the optional high quality cover. This is a well built stove that will last for many years. The two burner grill is also awsome. I use it now to cook all bacon for the family weather permiting. I can't wait to take it camping.

I BOUGHT THE 2 BURNER STOVE @ ACADEMY FOR $90 & TOOK IT BACK AFTER SEEING THE 3X AT COSTCO FOR $150 W/ THE GRIDDLE. ACADEMY HAS A GREAT RETURN POLICY. I'VE HEARD A LOT OF COMPLAINTS ABOUT THE GRIDDLE CRACKING, BUT MINE DIDNT. IT DID, HOWEVER GET A LITTLE WARPED. WE BOUGHT THE 2-BURNER GRILL BOX AND THE USE IT ALL OF THE TIME. IT STAYS ON THE PATIO UNDER THE COVER & ISNT RELEGATED TO CAMPING. ALONG W/ A TURKEY FRYER AND A WEBER SMOKER, I USUALLY COOK FOR 25-35 FRIENDS ON THE RIVER.

Camp Chef usually doesn't send them to us for sell until they are done selling them at COSTCO. So for now and most of the spring time, they can be found at Costco...Thanks

Great outdoor cooking... Date submitted:(2007-02-09) Rating:
I do most of my camping during hunting season and this stove gets the job done hands down and acts as a heater as well in our cook area. Because of the BTU output it doesn't take as long to heat up and cook breaksfast or dinner. Mine came with the double grille & bag. I have since purchased a carry bag and a single grille. This stove is a winner in my book and my buddies want one too.

We have used this stove for over a year now whenever we go camping. We set it up outside and do all of our cooking outdoors. This keeps the camper cool inside and gives us much more room and fire power outside. It is the best camping accessory we have
