I am overall very pleased with the oven. We do a lot of camping usually with several other families through out the year. CampChef Oven
I am going to echo a few other reviews on this:_x000D_
_x000D_
The burners are just too weak. I have tried a few different times and cooking different volumes. The BTU's are just too weak to be useful for cooking. They will keep things warm for sure. _x000D_
_x000D_
The oven is the obvious key feature for this. Lighting the oven for the first time after its been sitting for a while is a little tricky. You do have to keep the knob pressed in for 30s, not a real issue. I setup my kitchen and make sure everything is working right away, after that I don't have issues lighting it for the remainder of the camping trip. A few issues with the oven is the temperature control. I find in normal weather with out a lot of wind the oven is really hot even with the temp control turned down and in overly windy conditions its hard to keep hot (400+). I read another review about blocking the rear vent with foil and I will be trying that out. When the oven is running too hot I have propped the door open for some extra ventilation but you have to be careful as then all the hot air is blow right across the control knobs for the oven and the burner and they get hot. I haven't melted them and I am not sure if they would, just something to be careful about. _x000D_
_x000D_
My setup is this oven and the 3 burner Expedition grill. I have a propane tank with a splitter to allow me to run both off one tank. So I cannot really speak to how fuel efficient this oven is as I never have an issue._x000D_

I would and do recommend this to friends and family.

Great Camp Oven but.....
The two wind breaker doors are hard to squeeze into and get out of the side slots. Closing the lid the door spring locks are a pain to deal with because there is no way to keep them out of the way. I'm going to try a magnet to keep them out of the way.

oven is great - top burners too weak
The oven is great, but the top burners are too weak (5000 btu). I used at 6000' (Tahoe) w/ 40degree mornings and it took a long time to boil water. For simple simmering and warming they are fine, but fast hot frying or boiling may be challenging. _x000D_
_x000D_
For the oven, I found that the vent in back may be too big (let's out too much hot air), and so I put a piece of foil in there. I kept a constant 375 degree oven. Without the foil, I found more uneven temperatures inside (I measured w/ thermomoter)._x000D_
_x000D_
When cold, the oven control (on mine) has an issue when starting. After lighting, if you immediately let go of the knob (push to start), the burner goes out. Rather, one must hold the knob in for 30 or so seconds, then let go and burner will stay on._x000D_
_x000D_
On a hot day at home, I found that the oven became too hot even on lowest flame setting. It would be nice if flame could go lower. I simply cracked the door (and kept vent clear/open on back)._x000D_
_x000D_
Maybe what it needs is an adjustable vent to compensate for external temperatures..._x000D_
_x000D_
We made bread and cookies - we were the envy of the campground. Also nice for rewarming foods. _x000D_
_x000D_
I DO recommend this product. I just wish top burners stronger. (We used another stove for those needs.) 4 stars for oven (lighting issue, temp control/vent) but works nice otherwise; 2 stars for weak top burners. 3 stars overall._x000D_

(sidenote: the shiny chrome fooled my friend, he thought it was a fancy Italian espresso machine!)

Much Better than I expected
I have just come back from a Hunting/Camping trip where i had the opportunity to use my Camp Chef Oven for the first time. I was really impressed! First off, the burners heated just as quick as home. The water boiled quicker than some camp stoves I have bought in the past, for the same money I spent on my Camp Chef Oven. The oven warmed to the desired temp quicker than my home oven and the biscuits and the casserole were perfectly cooked, just like home. I can't wait to bake my first cake from scratch in it during my next campout.

This oven is the dude!
I tested this little oven in my office... I know it says something about being well ventilated. My window was wide open. I had a little challenge getting it lit initially but was successful after carefully following the instructions. I recommend you read and follow the lighting instructions carefully. Also make sure your fuel bottle is warm. I brought mine in from the outside where it had been stored in my cargo trailer I use for camping. The temperature was up to 415° in about 10 minutes, maybe less, after I lit the oven. That seemed to be its limit but certainly within acceptable range of most things I will be baking while in the camp situation. I haven't baked anything in it yet even though I went on a camping trip this past weekend. Had to many cooks and the weather was touch and go with rain while preparing meals. Once I actually use this oven I will update my review but am confident this little oven is going to expand my circle of friends. I noticed it held its temperature quite well even after turning it off, a testament to the insulation factor placed into the manufacturing process.

Wow! Works better than expected
Wow! Works better than expected. I buy camp stoves by the BTU, and this seemed on the shy side of how much heat I like to have. However, it boiled two pans of soup so fast that when my wife went out to check how they were coming, they were already done. As for the oven, in fifty degree ambient, it came up to temperature so fast we were surprised. Little tricky to adjust the oven temperature, but quite manageable. This is just the thing for those of us who dry camp in primitive campgrounds and who boondock where other campers are present. It us inconsiderate to run the generator with others around, but this thing solves that problem. Absolutely love it. And thee are many more uses we have planned. Been waiting for something like this for a long time.

Great for coffee and muffins
I recieved this oven for xmas last year and was the best gift ever-while the coffees brewing in the morning-you have muffins or biscuits or cinnamon rolls baking-it cooks so evenly, golden brown and I haven't burnt one thing and we have used it alot!
I keep it spotless and some of our friends think I keep it just for looks-but it gets used everyday that we are out-whether in the mountains or at the river.
We have a retro 1973 Timberline camp trailer which we love-it was my parents-everything is original and works awesome including the range and oven, but I still do 95-98% of my cooking outside. I have a camp kitchen from the 1950's tent trailer where the aluminum kitchen rolled into the side but comes out free staning like a card table, we have 2 old coleman camp stoves that use white gas and the new Camp Chef oven-we have the best meals ever and feed most of the family and neighbors while we are camping.
Thank You Camp Chef you certainly made my job and cooking enjoyment alot easier!

Great price...Must have...No Regrets
Living in Miami, Florida you run the risk of frequent power outages due to the tropical issues we encounter every year from June all the way thru to October or so. And with that in mind I took the liberty of purchasing this outdoor oven. I surfed the web and all the ratings were excellent including the comments on various websites. I purchased it thru Outdoor Cooking at a GRRREAT Price and turned it on immediately. I baked some BBQ Chicken that nite and let me tell youuu......You're investing on a wonderful product. Not disappointed at all. It's sturdy, reliable, the heat is precise, cooks fast, the burners are excellent. It's funny how all my family/friends have seen how this little oven works and as soon as a power outage occurs...they immediately come over with their food to cook on it as well. You can do anything!!! A must have..you won't regret!!

We love our outdoor oven and now use it as a second oven when we entertain. It was cheaper than remodeling the kitchen. The extra burners are also nice and heat everything very quickly. I highly recommend this addition to the backyard kitchen or even for camping.

Great for power outages
I live in South Louisiana. Within the last 3 years, we have experienced 4 major hurricanes. With the power outages that inevitably follow each storm, this product is ideal for preparing meals. It is compact, light weight, has burners, and an oven.
Thanks for a great product!

Just make sure you buy the bulk take hose attachment.
This oven worked great!

I have two small complaints (nit picky at that)! The first is that you must buy the bulk tank attachment hose. Otherwise you will be going through those disposable small tanks like crazy. Pay the $20 its well worth it. Number two was the height. If you’re camping and set it on a picnic table it's really tall for a shorter person. My wife is 5'2.

Everything else was great.

Great for power outages and camping.
Overall a great stove/oven combo - great for emergencies and power outages. It's a little heavy, but that's to be expected for decent quality oven. Self-igniter doesn't always work and have to try several times to light it. My biggest complaint is that the stove top burners do not have a true low flame; it's either high or medium. I've had a few over-spills because of this and had to unscrew the top to clean it properly. Wish there was a low, sturdy table/cart to put it on because it's too high and my arms get tired (and I'm not short.) But, all that said I still love it and would recommend it.

Oustanding product
I have two of these that I use for catering and we just are mindful to rotate the pans/sheets from top to bottom and turn them by 180 degrees each time we do and we have no problems with burning or scorching. We bake (one on each shelf) two half pans of lasagna, macaroni and cheese and just about anything you bake in any full-size oven and it all comes out great. just remember to rotate from shelf to shelf periodically -- which you probably often have to do in your regular oven in your kitchen. I have used these to bake everything from cookies, muffins and rolls to roasting meats. Best part is because it runs off either small bottle or large tank propane you can go anywhere for an event whether it is a park, someone's garden, a ranch, a farm field, a meadow, a vineyard, or out in the field at a fundraiser, etc. and do not have to be tied to electricity or a generator like you would with electric ovens. I would highly recommend the griddle for the top two burners (it was included when I bought my ovens). I have many Camp Chef products including the 3-burner Explorer stove, griddle and grill box and all are fantastic. I use them for family gatherings as well as large-scale catering gigs. Be smart, though, and buy the carry and storage bags for all of your products, They are definitely worth it.

I wish i had purchased this oven years ago, instead of putting it off.
I really cant say enough about this great little oven. I received my oven as a xmas gift from daughter and girlfriend, and couldn't hardly wait to use it. i had used the Coleman collapsible oven since the early 1980`s .
On my first trip using the oven it was everything i had hoped it would be.... Except for one annoying feature... it was nearly impossible to control the temperature and It seems many people have experienced the same problem with controlling the temperature.
What worked for me was, I purchased a adjustable pressure regulator with a range of 1 to 20 lbs. or so, and added a 1 to 10 lb. pressure gauge. I had the best success controlling the oven temperature with a reading on the pressure gauge @ 1.5 lbs. and @ 375 degrees. since adding the regulator & Gauge i have been able to cook a roasting hen in a terracotta bowl, a seven bone roast , cinnamon rolls and biscuits, with no problems at all. Of course if you are not using the over you can adjust the stove top burners with the regulator to suit your need.
