Perfect Pot Roast

 

Pot roast is an American dinner staple. Depending on how it is prepared it can be the best meat you have ever tasted or it can leave you looking for water to moisten your mouth.

The following recipe will definitely fall into the first with a very moist texture and amazing flavor.

Pot Roast Ingredients:

  • 3 – 4 lb. Roast
  • 1 Can Cream of Mushroom Soup
  • 1 Cup Beef Broth
  • 1/2 Cup Water
  • 1 Package Onion Soup Mix
  • 6 to 8 Yukon Potatoes (quartered)
  • 1 Onion (quartered)
  • Small Bag of Baby Carrots
  • Salt and Pepper to Taste

Cooking Instructions:

  1. Bring Dutch oven up to heat on stove top and place butter inside
  2. When butter is melted, place roast in and brown on all sides
  3. Remove Dutch oven from heat
  4. Set your oven temperature to 325°
  5. In a mixing bowl combine soup, broth, onion soup mix and water together
  6. Pour mix over roast then add potatoes, onion and carrots
  7. Place Dutch oven inside oven and cook for approx. 2 hrs
