Factory Info from Worthington Cylinders Review by woody
Rating
I just called and spoke with Worthington who manufactured my aluminum 10# cylinder, 1972, they said there is no date life on cylinders, as long as they have the current OPD valve and pass inspection, they are good to go. FOREVER. SO unless there is something fiberglass specific, which I'd love to know of if so, these should be around for a long time, alot longer than steel anyway. Woody (Posted on 5/31/12)

15 year life???? I don't think so. Review by woody

I can't find anything that says any cylinder is trashed after 15 years. I have some from the 70s, as long as they are in good condition and have a stamp within 5 years should be good to go forever. First inspection after 12 years, every 5 after that. (Posted on 5/31/12)

Life span of propane tanks Review by Woody
Rating
Not sure about the 15 year thing, I have aluminum cylinders from 1972, as long as they are inspected every five years after the first 12 year inspection. Where does it say these cylinders must be trashed after 15 years? Must be fiberglass specific? (Posted on 5/31/12)

This is NOT the last ... Review by R. Nien

This is NOT the last cylinder you will ever need to purchase!!!
The DOT document linked on the ad says clearly that ALL propane cylinders MUST be trashed after 15 years. That is the law. So I WILL need to purchase another after that. Paying more than twice the price for the same lifespan makes no sense. (Posted on 5/31/12)

Great Innovative Propane Cylinder Review by Anonymous
Rating
After doing a ton of reasearch on composite cylinders, I chose this cylinder over the Lite Cylinder because of the one-piece construction. Ragasco has millions of these in service in Europe, and their safety record appears very strong. Although the capacity doesn't quite match the typical 20 lb tank, I was able to get 3.9 gal of propane into it (80% capacity). Being able to actually see the propane level is really terrific--no more guessing, weighing, or hoping! [...] (Posted on 1/10/10)

Pros: Propane level easily seen, Safe will not explode, Lightweight, Flat base, Approved in all 50 states, UV Resistant, Tank will not corrode, One piece tank
Cons: Not suitable for trade in, Expensive, 17 pound propane capacity, Taller than typical tank

Great product Review by Joe Hembree

Over the years I can't tell you the amount of times that I have ran out of propane in the middle of a family cookout. Well those days are over. Also a couple years back I had a propane tank explode at my hunting camp while cooking burgers.
The videos I have seen online prove that these thanks will not explode!

Great product and the future of Grilling for sure! (Posted on 9/9/06)
